Water Emergency in Jefferson City

So, the city is restricting residential lawn watering to even-numbered addresses on even-numbered dates, with odd-numbered addresses allowed to water only on odd-numbered dates.

"During the summertime, you see a spike in demand like at four o'clock in the morning. And that is due to, I think, the automatic water sprinkling systems," said Operation Superintendent Gilbert Cole.

Indoor water use is not restricted. Officials said Missouri River levels in Jefferson City are not a problem and can help if the situation gets worse. They said two days of rain could help solve the problem.
