Westminster College receives $4.4 million gift
FULTON – A multi-million dollar donation will help enhance education and experiences for Westminster College students.
The bequest came from the estate of Charles Scott Griesa, a Westminster College alumnus who died in 2006. He contributed to the liberal arts college for nearly three decades, according to a press release.
The bequest will benefit Westminster Futures, a strategic plan focused on the future of the school. Westminster College President Fletcher Lamkin said the gift will help further the quality of education and involvement for students.
“This helps us look at strategic initiatives in the future that are going to help us become a college that we want it to be for our students,” Lamkin said. “We’re going to look at support of our academic areas and other parts of the student experience that can be enhanced by this gift.”
Westminster College freshman student Ruramaimunashe Mutefura said she is appreciative of Griesa’s donation.
“I am very grateful for this donation because I know it is going to help me when I’m doing my research studies,” Mutefura said.
