COLUMBIA – In an action-packed week for Mizzou and Columbia College athletics, KOMU Sports has the games you won’t want to miss out on

 

Tuesday, Nov 28

No. 9 Columbia College Volleyball vs Morningstar College (1:30 P.M.) on the NAIA Network

 

The Cougars take to Sioux City for the start of the NAIA Championships. After a 33-6 record thus far, Melina Wrye-Washington takes her squad into the Pool H portion of the bracket for three games against Morningside College, Tabor College and Grand View University. Morningside comes in off of a first round bye and boast an 18-12 record.

 

No. 7 Columbia College Women’s Soccer vs Westmont College (6:00 P.M.) on the NAIA Network

 

Moving up to number seven in the latest coach’s poll, the opening round for Cougar soccer takes place against Orange Beach. The 21-1 squad has not lost since Oct 10 and given up just six goals all year.

 

 

Wednesday, Nov 29

 

No. 9 Columbia College Volleyball vs Tabor College (8:00 P.M.) on the NAIA Network

 

In the second game of pool play, the Cougars take on Tabor College who come off of a victory against Trinity Christian in the opening round.  Amy Horner leads the Blue Jays and all of NAIA in total kills (605) and sixth in kills per game (4.420).

 

Thursday, Nov 30

 

No. 9 Columbia College Volleyball vs Grand View University (4:00 P.M.) on the NAIA Network

 

Wrapping up the first three games of the tournament, the toughest challenge for Columbia College comes against the 31-7 Grand View Vikings. The Vikings come into the tournament with a first round bye and the winner of the pool advances into the final bracket.

 

No 19. Mizzou Women’s Basketball vs Kansas State (8:00 P.M.) on the SEC Network

 

After a riveting 55-52 victory over No. 21 Cal for the Cal Classic Championship, the Tigers will look to extend their winning streak to six against the Wildcats. Sophie Cunningham lead the way for the Tigers with 11 points, 7 assists and 3 rebounds in her 36 minutes of play.

 

Mizzou Men’s Basketball at University of Central Florida (8:00 P.M.) on ESPN2

 

The Tiger’s head back to Orlando after a tough loss in the AdvoCare Invitational final against No. 23 West Virginia. After controlling the lead for a majority of the game, the reigning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Jevon Carter took over in the 83-79 Mizzou loss. UCF boasts their conference defensive player of the year, 7’ 6” center Tacko Fall as the Tigers hope to rebound in Orlando.

 

 

Friday, Dec 1

 

Mizzou Volleyball vs Kansas (6:00 P.M.) from Wichita State

 

The playoffs start Friday for Wayne Kreklow’s team after the selection show sent them to Wichita, Kansas for the opening round of the tournament. With the Border War rekindled, the 20-11 Tigers have won three of their last four and their only loss came against No. 3 Florida on November 25. The winner takes on the winner of Radford and Wichita State.
