William Woods Competes in Final Day of NAIA Championships
FULTON, MO -- On the final day of the Indoor Track & Field Indoor Championships held in Geneva, Ohio., the Owls were being represented by Ryan Meyer in the 5000-meter final and Jon Williams in the 800-meter run final.
After having a strong showing in his heat yesterday finishing with a time of 1:54.32, Williams looked to improve on his time by winning the finals. Williams, however, crossed the line in 8th place at 1:54.40, .02 seconds behind the winner Monte Larsen from Morningside.
Meyer was up next and was also looked for great showing in the finals of the 5000-meter run. In his heat on Thursday, the senior finished with a time of 15:05.54, being the last runner to qualify for the finals. Today, the Linn, Mo., native smashed his personal record in the 5000-meter, finishing in 5th place with a time of 14:39.28.
Both Williams and Meyer received All-American honors for their performances throughout the season and at Nationals. Cheryl Held, Ryan Meyer, Terrell Shannon and Jonathan Williams all represented the Owls very well this weekend and should be proud by their performances.

It is time for some outdoor Track & Field action, as both the men and women will be participating in the Parkville Invitational on March 19th.
