Woman Charged in Drowning Death of Toddler
ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) - A St. Charles County woman is facing charges in the drowning death of her 15-month-old nephew.
Investigators tell the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that 35-year-old Erin Lottmann got drunk Monday, then swam with the toddler, who drowned.
Lottmann was charged Tuesday with involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child. She did not yet have a listed attorney.
Police say Lottmann was babysitting the boy at her home when she decided to take him swimming in a backyard pool. Lottman's 14-year-old daughter found the boy unconscious on the swimming pool deck.
