Charliscia Brooks faces up to ten years in prison at sentencing July 21st. She admitted in federal court Friday to filing a false claim to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Brooks claimed in April that her vehicle had been damaged in the hurricane. She used an address in New Orleans and was granted more than ten-thousand dollars from FEMA. In her plea, she admitted she was not entitled to any disaster assistance. A co-defendant, Andrea Gholston of St. Louis, is still awaiting trial.
