Woman will stand trial in man's stabbing death near Joplin
NEOSHO (AP) - A 25-year-old woman will stand trial for second-degree murder for her alleged role in the stabbing death of a man at a mobile home park near Joplin.
A judge ruled Tuesday that Bobbie Joe McKinney of Joplin should stand trial for second-degree murder, hindering prosecution and tampering with a vehicle in the Feb. 22 stabbing death of 30-year-old Trevor Webb.
Authorities allege McKinney was with Ryan Smith, of Joplin, when Smith stabbed Webb in the chest with a pocketknife. The Joplin Globe reports a probable-cause affidavit says they took a significant amount of cash and drugs from Webb and fled in a stolen van.
Smith is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He waived a preliminary hearing in March and is awaiting trial.
