Wright, Pagan Homers for Mets in Win over Cards

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) -- David Wright and Angel Pagan
homered, the Mets had seven straight hits after Skip Schumaker made a two-out error in the fourth inning and New York routed the St.Louis Cardinals 16-3 on Thursday.

Second base candidate Brad Emaus and Josh Thole also homered,and the Mets finished with 23 hits. The Mets scored eight times in the fourth.

Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia allowed 10 runs -- just three earned -- on 14 hits and no walks in four innings. He struck out one batter.

Mets left-hander Chris Capuano allowed three runs -- two earned --and eight hits in five innings. He fanned four without walking a batter.
