WWU Rolls to Second-Place Team Finish at Eagle Open
BOONVILLE, MO -- The William Woods University men's golf team finished just eight shots back of Missouri Baptist University in the Central Methodist University Eagle Open, firing a two-day total of 612 (304-308; +44) at the Hailridge Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday. Tyler Daly was the top finisher for the Owls, carding a 150 (75-75; +8) on the par-71 course.
Shane Kressig and Warren Crow paced the WWU team with matching 152s in the event. Kressig carded a combo of 75 and 77, while Crow inked back-to-back 76s for a +10 finish, good for seventh on the individual leaderboard.
Alex Stear and Mark Loeber also found themselves in a three-way tie, this time carding matching 154s for 10th overall. Stear posted rounds of 78 and 76 for a +12 finish. Loeber rounded out the team scoring, following an opening day 75 with a 79. Cody Hackman shot a 165 (83-82; +23) to round out the team score.
Competing as an individual, Tyler Hamilton finished 25th with a card of 160 (81-79; +18) with Ryan Ellis shooting a 167 (83-84; +25) to finish 45th.
Next up for the Owls is the AMC/Unaffiliated Grouping championship, slet for May 6-8 at Shaker Run Golf Club in Turtlecreek Township, Ohio.
