MID-MISSOURI - Central Missouri Honor Flight Riders are planning to create a Guiness World Record on the next Honor Flight on May 8th.  Currently, there is no record for the midnight escort of World War II veterans from Kingdom City home to Columbia.  Central Missouri Honor Flight flies terminally ill and aging veterans to Washington, DC to see their memorial at no cost to them.  The May 8th flight will be the 18th mission for the all volunteer group that has flown nearly 1000 veterans.  You can welcome home a World War II veteran by going to the Courtyard by Marriott in Columbia about midnight on May 8th.  Bring a friend.  Bring a flag.  At the video thumbnail to your left, is a video about the Honor Flight riders' record attempt.  The largest group so far has been about 285 riders. 

If you know of an aging veteran, including veterans of the Korean War, please encourage them to apply by going to www.centralmissourihonorflight. com .  World War II veterans have priority seating but Korean Veterans may also secure their slot on the Honor Flight list.
