Christmas Tree Choice
COLUMBIA - This time of year folks buying Christmas trees will show their preference for either real or fake trees. Those rooting for real trees might say it's a family tradition. Those who prefer artificial ones like the easy cleanup.
Columbia resident Shaun Morris said his choice comes down to something simple. "I like they way real trees smell," he said. Morris and his son chose a 7-foot tree to cut down late Wednesday afternoon. It's an activity the Morris family enjoys each year. Morris said it's exciting to get a different looking tree each year, and to let his son help make the choice.
On the other side, artificial trees are widely favored for their lack of pine needles, maintenance, and post-holiday cleanup effort.
