Columbia church adjusts service schedule due to incoming snow
COLUMBIA - C2 Church changed Sunday services to Saturday to make accommodations for incoming snow.
C2 Church's pastor, Jeremy Risner, said it was important to him and the members of the church to be together to worship despite the weather.
"When, where and how...it's about the Gospel. So, if we need to do it on a Saturday, then we can do that too," Risner said.
He said the church made plans to change the service to Saturday "proactively" instead of "reactively," so the members could still be in person to worship.
He said, even though it is not about the building where people worship, it is still important as a community to gather together.
"We're a tight community, you know, the five or six hundred people that call this church home. They want to be together on Sundays," Risner said.
Megan Bode, the C2 Church intern, said it was vital to coordinate every aspect of the organization, so the weekend could run smoothly.
"We want to offer the best we can to the people that come, so they can get closer to Jesus," she said.
KOMU 8 News received reports from numerous other local congregations also planning to hold services early due to weather. A full list is available on the closings and cancellations page.
