Crews Work to Demolish Hinkson Creek Bridge
COLUMBIA - Construction is close to beginning on improvements to Scott Boulevard as soon as workers tear down the HInkson Creek Bridge on the road this week.
The project is designed to avoid flooding in the areal. The bridge will be a full nine feet higher than it is currently.
Sapp could not give an exact date to when the bridge will be demolished, but said it should occur this week.
Sapp also said the data from the "Right-In, Right-Out" traffic study conducted in front of the Missouri Athletic Center are being analyzed carefully this week. The study began March 19.
Sapp said, "This week, of course, we are watching traffic as well because with schools and colleges out we believe that our traffic volume will be less. So we want to make that comparison as well."
