Governor Nixon Hosts Annual Ham Breakfast
The Grand Champion Ham, Reserve Grand Champion Ham, Grand Champion Bacon and a State Fair Gold Belt Buckle were auctioned off for upwards of thousands of dollars. The proceeds go to groups like the FFA and 4-H that play large roles in the state fair.
A slew of different Missouri politicians were present at the event, including Lieutenant Governor Kinder. Nixon wouldn't comment on the Kinder scandal, saying he would let the Lieutenant Governor speak on the matter. Earlier in the breakfast, reporters approaced Kinder, but he denied interviews.
Nixon also spoke on the special session, saying he's "working on it" and hopes to have a full legislature back in Jefferson City by early September.
