Gun Show Sets Its Sights on Central Missouri Event Center
BOONE COUNTY - The RK Gun Show is here once again at the Central Missouri Event Center, formerly known as the Boone County Fairgrounds. Selling everything from handguns to rifles to individual gun parts, it's paradise for any hunter, shooting competitor or personal defense enthusiast.
Dennis Pearson, Show Manager, said that at events like these, there's something for everyone. "There's clips, ammo, assault rifles, target rifles, target pistols, concealed-type pistols, you know smaller handguns, accessories for AR-15's (a semi-automatic assault rifle), sniper rifles. At a gun show, you pretty much get a little bit of everything," Pearson said.
According to Pearson, the show has more than 100 exhibitors showing off and selling nearly everything related to firearms one can imagine.
One such exhibitor, Mark Goldberg, said that his favorite part of the show is talking to the customers. "Everybody that walks by, I try to greet them. I want to sell them something. I've got stuff here to sell. They might not have it; I might not have what they're looking for. I try to find other people in the show that don't have the stuff I have, so instead of sitting there with my fingers on my lips that you would do in a cartoon, I try to get people what they want. Price might be right, it might not. But, at least I pitch it and try to do the best I can," Goldberg said.
The gun show will stay in town throughout the weekend at the Event Center and will run on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $7 per person for one day or $10 for the weekend.
