Hartzler wins 4th district
CASS COUNTY - 4th Congressional District U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler, has won a third term.
Friends, family, and supporters gathered in Cass Country to watch election results with Congresswoman Hartzler.
"We've gotten a lot of support across this district, we've worked really hard and hopefully we will have good results here soon," said Hartzler.
The mood was cheerful and hopeful right as polls closed and continued until official results came down.
Other elected officials from Cass County were on hand to celebrate and let out cheers when the race was called.
Hartzler defeated Democrat Nate Irvin and Libertarian Herschel Young.
I spoke with Irvin early in the day and he said he was feeling good about the results but knew that it would come down to statistics that might not side with him.
Hartzler's win was just one of many Republican wins on election night.
"I think Americans are saying we need to go a new direction in Washington, so I'm hopeful that maybe we will have the opportunity to have new leadership in the Senate," said Hartzler.
