Higher Republican voter turnout in Primary election than Democrats

COLUMBIA - On Tuesday voters cast their ballot in Missouri's 2018 primary election. 

Top races include Missouri U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives 4th District and Proposition A "Right to Work."

The Republican Party racked up 663,533 votes and the Democratic Party tallied in with 605,503 votes across the state Tuesday for the U.S. Senate race.

Josh Hawley won for Republicans and will represent the Republican Party against incumbent Democrat winner Claire McCaskill for U.S. Senator. 

In Boone County, 20,421 people voted with the Democratic Party and 13,445 people voted with the Republican Party.

Callaway County voters had nearly double the amount of Republican votes 6,296, than total Democrat votes 2,928 in the Senate race.

Missouri's U.S. House of Representatives 4th District election was a close race for the Democratic Party. While, incumbent Republican Vicky Hartzler received more votes individually than the combined number of votes for Democrat candidates Hallie Thompson and winner, Renee Hoagenson.
