International Workers' Day has Columbia Group Fired Up
COLUMBIA - Occupy COMO will be back at City Hall Tuesday in celebration of International Workers' Day.
International Workers' Day has traditionally been held May 1st to commemorate the 1886 Haymarket Massacre in Chicago. That historical strike set the stage for decades of change in labor rights.
At the Occupy COMO rally, organizers want to honor those who have fought for labor rights and also speak out against corporate greed. Occupy COMO will open the doors of its Hitt Street office at 10 a.m. Tuesday and participants will march to City Hall around noon.
