COLUMBIA- The Boone County Sheriff's Department led an internet safety workshop for parents and children. The workshop featured an officer with the Boone County Sheriff's Department cyber crimes task force. Instructors focused on a variety of topics alerting parents on the dangers of social networking, texting, and how to protect and inform their children on safety measures.
Workshops are provided annually to give parents resources and information on who to contact in case of sexting crimes, bullying, and internet safety. Other information can be found on the Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force website.
