Lake of the Ozarks celebrates Labor Day weekend
LAKE OZARK- The Lake of the Ozarks is a hot spot to celebrate Labor Day weekend, and people came from all over the midwest to take part.
Dave Small visited the lake with his family this weekend and drove six hours from Dubuque, Iowa, to get there. It was their first time in the Ozarks, and they say it didn't disappoint.
“I think it’s definitely worth the drive to come down here and go fishing,” Small said.
Small is one of many people that chose to spend their weekend at the lake. He said it was hard not to notice how many people were here, while he explored the area with his family.
“It seems like a lot of people are in town, all of the little shops seem pretty full,” he said.
Like Small, Judy Aburto decided to have a family vacation weekend in the Ozarks. Aburto and her family drove to the lake from the St. Louis area. They went boating Saturday and started fishing Sunday.
“It’s a good time and a fun family oriented place. We had a great time as a family,” Aburto said.
There will be a firework celebration over the lake Sunday night at 9:30 p.m. with even more festivities Monday, including live music and more water activities.
