MU Students Studying in UK Still Safe
COLUMBIA - MU officials said Wednesday that all 12 students and two faculty members currently studying in the United Kingdom are safe and accounted for. The university said the group is studying or teaching library science in Edinburgh, a city about seven hours north of London.
Officials said 15 students are currently enrolled to study in London during the fall. But, that program does not start until September. The university said it is monitoring the situation and is committed to keeping its students safe.
London riots began August 4th after police allegedly killed 29-year-old Mark Duggan during an arrest. Protestors started marching in Tottenham and eventually turned violent.
