COLUMBIA - Columbia Public Schools held a meeting on Thursday to look over the Annual Performance Report.

The report stated more than 500 students enrolled in AP classes this year. It also stated that students scored above average with their ACT scores.

Superintendent Peter Stiepleman said the achievement data covered many success stories.

"There is so much to be proud of. As a district, we continue to excel in things like AP and ACT scores," said Stiepleman. "We do better than the state and better then the nation."

The report also stated that more than 74 percent of students' AP scores met the level required in order to receive college credit for many universities and colleges.

Columbia Public School officials also said they will focus on children from fragile families in order for everyone to improve this coming year.
