No amended bell schedules for Jefferson City Public Schools
JEFFERSON CITY - After a proposal to adjust the school starting and ending times at Jefferson City Public Schools, the Board of Education will not be asked to consider adjusting the times.
"Although we believe these changes would be in the best interest of students and would positively impact learning, we realize and appreciate the inconvenience that would be posed for some parents, staff and community." superintendent of JCPS, Brian Mitchell said.
"I believe that they should change the time because waking up earlier really doesn't help me," said JCHS student Derrick Parker. "I can't really focus and falling asleep in class, so if I wake up later I can actually focus better."
Mitchell said the district will proceed without an amended bell schedule at this time.
