Non-Profit and Adults With Disabilities Host Red Carpet Fundraiser
COLUMBIA - A group of adults with disabilities is hosting a red carpet fundraiser to raise donations for the community.
The Red Carpet Gala is a fundraiser for the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri. The event is put on by Woodhaven, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to individuals with disabilities so the individuals can live independently as members of the community. Admission to the event is a donation of five canned goods.
The event will be held in the Kimball Ballroom on Stephens College campus Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Dinner and dancing will begin at 7 p.m.
"This is not just an event for people with disabilities," said Gala Planning Committee head Nick Raines. "It is an event planned by a committee of people with a diverse set of abilities for people of all abilities with the goal of giving back to our community together as equals."
