Patrol Investigates Fatal Randolph Co. Accident

HIGBEE - The Missouri Highway Patrol and Randolph County Sheriff's Department responded to a fatal car accident in Higbee Thursday night. According to the highway patrol, at approximately 7:30 p.m. the 30-year-old driver, Daniel Reardon of Higbee, lost control of a Chevrolet Trail Blazer on Randolph Street about a block north of the school. The car hit two trees, concrete porch steps and a landscaping railroad tie. 

The wreck left Reardon with serious injuries. A Randolph County ambulance transported Reardon to the Moberly Regional Medical Center and then he was life flighted to the University Hospital in Columbia. There were two passengers in the car. The accident killed 31-year-old Clint Woods of Higbee. Woods was pronounced dead near the scene.

The other passenger also of Higbee, 25-year-old Vickie Palmer, suffered minor injuries.  A Randolph County ambulance transported Palmer to the Moberly Regional Medical Center. 

The highway patrol reports that Woods and Reardon were not wearing seat belts. It is unknown at this time whether Palmer was wearing a seat belt.
