Prayer service planned before Mike Parson is sworn in as governor

JEFFERSON CITY - Lt. Gov. Mike Parson will officially take office as the Missouri Governor Friday at 5:30 p.m.
Before the swearing-in ceremony, the First Baptist Church in Jefferson City will hold a small prayer service.
Sources told KOMU that Parson's brother would be leading the service.
The prayer service, as well as the swearing-in ceremony, will be closed to the general public. However, media will be present at both events.
According to the AP, Parson plans to hold a public reception later.
