COLUMBIA - Rock Bridge High School senior Jalen Logan-Redding signed Wednesday to play football with the University of Minnesota and fellow player Will Norris signed to play at the University of Missouri this fall.

The two have spent the past few years playing football together and originally both planned to go to Mizzou.

"I didn't really have that tough of a decision...I knew I wanted to be at Mizzou," Norris said.

That was what Logan-Redding planned on doing, too, until former MU football coach Barry Odom lost his job. Soon after Mizzou hired new coach Eli Drinkwitz, Logan-Redding decommitted. He decided to head north to Minnesota instead.

"I just didn't know what would happen in the future, that's one thing, and I didn't want to take that chance," Logan-Redding said.

Both athletes celebrated their signings tonight.

Although their paths are different, they said their connection to each other will remain the same.

"You know, I was shocked, I guess, but I just told him I'm gonna support him either way," Norris said.

They're excited for the chance to grow as athletes in the fall even if they are playing on different fields.
