Route WW Bridge Opens Early
BOONE COUNTY - MoDOT completed construction on the Route WW Bridge Thursday afternoon, ahead of their April 15th deadline. Cars began to cross the bridge when they noticed a "road closed" sign was no longer blocking the bridge.
Nancy Russell owns a home near the bridge and she said she heard the construction noise stop Thursday around noon, but just figured the workers had taken a lunch break. "We went out about 2 p.m. and saw the bridge was open, and I made my first left out of my driveway since February," said Russell.
The new bridge is complete with shoulders for both lanes and more modern railing. MoDot still needs to stripe the road and they say that will take a few hours, when weather permits.
