COLUMBIA - A campus climate survey showed 30.8 percent of women at the University of Missouri reported having been sexually assaulted, while the national statistic is about 20 percent. A group of MU students aimed to change that when they brought the "It's On Us" campaign to campus.
"'It's On Us' is a program that was started by the Obama administration, and the goal is to raise awareness and hopefully to prevent sexual assault on college campuses nationwide," said Tori Schafer, the director for the "It's On Us" program at MU.
As April is the month for sexual assault awareness, the group took on the second week of the month to take action against sexual assault in Columbia with a few events.

She added parents are encouraged to bring their children to the game to start a healthy conversation about sexual assault awareness and prevention as well as providing consent.
