COLUMBIA – Stephens College said Thursday a banner hanging over Broadway reading “Hate Has No Home Here” is a way for Stephens to show support and solidarity with the University of Missouri after recent campus protests.

“The banners were requested by some of our students who want to make a firm statement that, indeed, hate has no home on our campus or in the community,” said Janese Silvey, a story specialist and strategist at Stephens.

Stephens’ Student Government Association said in a statement, “We will stand in solidarity with #ConcernedStudent1950 and whole-heartedly support the actions of those students who are willing to put their lives on the line to fight for a cause that is bigger than themselves.”

Students at Stephens created the hashtag #StephensSolidarity to show their support.

"Hate has no home at Mizzou, at Stephens, in Missouri, or anywhere in this country," the student government said.
