COLUMBIA - Super Bowl weekend officially kicked off Friday. If you're looking for some last-minute quick and easy recipes for your Super Bowl Sunday party, try some buffalo chicken dip or cheeseburger sliders.

In U_News' new segment "Recipes that Rock," U_News director Lindsey Tyler and producer Nathan Higgins show you how to cook some surefire Super Bowl party hits.

To make the buffalo chicken dip, buy one block of cream cheese, a bag of shredded cheddar cheese, Frank's Hot Sauce, ranch dressing, and a can of canned chicken. First, microwave the block of cream cheese for 15-20 seconds to soften it. That will make it easier to mix together. Next, add one cup of cheddar cheese, followed by all the canned chicken. Then, douse everything with 2/3 of a cup of the hot sauce, throw on a little ranch, and mix it all together. Feel free to use more hot sauce if you like your dip spicy. Put the dip in a pie pan, spread it out evenly, and tip it off with some more cheddar cheese. Put the dip in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Pull it out of the oven and serve it hot with tortilla chips.

Another great and easy idea? Cheeseburger sliders. Brown a pound and a half of ground beef. While that's browning, cut up a pound of Velveeta into small cubes. Drain the grease from the beef, throw in the cheese, and let that melt together. Next, start preparing your buns. The recipe makes 36 sliders. Cut the buns in half and put them on aluminum foil on a pan or a cookie sheet.

Once the cheese and meat melts together, add a can of cream of mushroom soup and a packet of onion soup mix. Mix that together. Then, put a spoonful of the meat and cheese on each bun. Once you've used all the meat, cheese, and buns, completely wrap your pans with the sliders on them in aluminum foil. Throw the pans in the oven for 35 minutes at 350 degrees to steam the buns. When they're finished, pull them out and serve.

1 can of Canned Chicken
1 block of Cream Cheese
2/3 cup of Frank's Hot Sauce
1 cup of Cheddar Cheese
Ranch dressing (not the whole bottle, just some)

Cheeseburger Sliders:
1.5 pounds of ground beef
1 pound of Velveeta
36 Slider Buns
1 can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 packet of Onion Soup Mix
