The Boone County Fairgrounds Hosts Horse Show
COLUMBIA - The Central Missouri Events Center plays host to the Calvary Episcopal Charity Horse Show this weekend.
The show starts Thursday and runs through Saturday.
Over the past 20 years, the show has raised more than $250,000 for charities such as the Central Missouri Food Bank, Columbia Second Chance, and Cedar Creek Therapeutic Riding Center.
This year's money from donations and the entries fees will support the Family Health Center's Dental Clinic, Boone County Council on Aging and Heifer Project International.
In addition to monetary donations, those attending the event can bring toothbrushes and toothpaste for the dental clinic and cleaning supplies or Ensure for the Council on Aging.
The horse show was originally started as an effort to increase support for various charitable organizations in Central Missouri and to provide an opportunity for showing horses in a low-key environment.
The show starts at 11 a.m. on both Thursday and Friday and on 10 a.m. Saturday.
