Update: MSHP, Callaway County Sheriff's Office have detained one suspect in Kingdom City
CALLAWAY COUNTY - The Callaway County Sherriff's Office said one of the suspects has been detained in Kingdom City. The search continues for the second suspect.
According to the Callaway County Sherriff's Office, at this time, it is believed the second suspect has departed Kingdom City. The Missouri State Highway Patrol will continue their initial investigation.
A trooper spotted a stolen vehicle on I-70 just west of Kingdom City Wednesday morning and followed it. The release said the driver drove off of the highway deliberately, crossed a ditch and onto a nearby county roadway. Troopers then found the abandoned vehicle near the intersection of County Road 220 and County Road 210 southwest of Kingdom City. Troopers said they think the car was occupied by a white male and a white female.
Troopers and deputies are conducting an extensive search of the area with the MSHP aircraft and the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit. As of 1:30 p.m., the suspects have not been found.

Officials are asking people to lock their vehicles and report any suspicious activity to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.
