COLUMBIA - A conference move for Missouri could be imminent as West Virginia decided to move to the Big 12 conference Tuesday according to the Associated Press.

WVU will reportedly leave the Big East conference to replace Missouri, who has not yet formally withdrawn from the conference, but is expected to.

Neither the Big East nor WVU would confirm or deny the move.

Big East Associate Commissioner John Paquette told KOMU when there is something to react to, they will react.

WVU spokesman John Bolt said, "we have nothing to say about conferences right now."

The reported move adds to speculation that Missouri will leave the Big 12 for the SEC in the near future.

KOMU received an exclusive interview with MU Chancellor Brady Deaton Monday that can be seen here.

Chancellor Deaton told KOMU, "there are some issues that have to be adressed on behalf of the University of Missouri and that's what we're doing, looking out for the University of Missouri."

The Big East conference is looking to rebuild after now losing three members and one member-to-be in the last six weeks.

Big 12 and MU officials did not return phone calls on Tuesday.
