First Alert Forecast
Tonight will feature increasing cloud cover with lows falling into the middle 30s.
Our next cold front will move through the region Saturday morning, and cooler air will start to filter in through the day. Highs will top out in the middle 40s around midday and will fall to near 40° by the afternoon hours.
Another chance of winter weather is in the forecast for Saturday night into Sunday. We have placed our Storm Mode Index at a 1 (out of 5) due to the potential of snow for areas along and north of I-70 and a light winter mix for areas south of I-70. Precipitation will likely start as rain, but will transition to snow as we head into the overnight hours. Areas south of I-70 could see a brief period of freezing drizzle, but due to warm ground temperatures impacts to travel will be limited. Patchy slick spots on bridges and overpasses will be possible. Areas along and north of I-70 will mainly see snow with a dusting to 1" possible, any accumulation will likely stay on grassy surfaces. We will keep you updated.
Thanksgiving week is expected to start off sunny with temperatures on a warming trend through most of the week.
