Good morning and happy Tuesday! We are very warm this morning with temperatures in the 70s. Our average highs are usually in the 60s so we are already well above that. Temperatures are back in the 80s today and Wednesday before seasonal temperatures move back in with rain chances.
Warm, windy Tuesday
Temperatures will climb into the middle 80s under mostly sunny skies. Our record high for today is 86° so we are getting close! Winds will be out of the southwest at 15-25 mph, gusting up to 40 mph.
With dry ground conditions, low humidity, and gusty winds, there is an elevated fire threat today as well. Avoid outdoor burning throughout the day.
Overnight tonight temperatures will drop into the upper 60s with a few clouds. Winds will be out of the south at 10-20 mph, gusting up to 30 mph.
Next rain chances
Wednesday will be warm in the lower 80s with increasing clouds into the afternoon. Winds will still be out of the south at 15-20 mph, gusting up to 30 mph. A front will move in late in the evening and into the overnight bringing our next chance at rain. I can’t rule out a few rumbles of thunder and possibly a stronger storm or two.
We have the chance to pick up a decent amount of rainfall, which we really need! Upwards of one inch of rainfall will be possible across mid-MO. Rain moves out by Thursday afternoon.
Halloween forecast
Temperatures on Halloween will only climb into the upper 50s but we are looking sunny during the day! During the evening, it will be chilly with temperatures in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Trick-or-treaters might need a few extra layers under the costumes.
